The Can of the Year was among a haul of awards that the Ireland-based canmaker picked up at the Cans of the Year ceremony during the Canmaker Summit in London.
The can, which also won Gold in the Food Two-Piece category, further impressed judges because it was produced in 60 different designs, marking different towns and cities in Norway.
Ardagh market development manager Marc Bettinger accepted the award at a gala dinner attended by scores of executives and senior managers drawn from across the canmaking industry. He was also on hand to accept the Gold award in the Beverage Three-Piece category as well as a trove of awards in other multiple categories.
The Cans of the Year ceremony is the highlight of the Canmaker Summit, this year held in London for the first time, and which was opened yesterday with a rousing presentation from Canpack Group commercial officer Stephen McAneny. Speakers including Ball Beverage Packaging Europe vice president of operation Jason Ramskill offered industry insights during the final day of the event.
